Georg Leutzinger, 44 a Swiss Architect based in Bangalore brings with him a passion to explore the Great Indian outdoors. His love for the Himalaya has been bringing him to Munsiari in Pithoragarh District of Kumaon, Uttarakhand a few times a year . This year to add even more excitement and adventure to his trips he has set out on a 300 kilometre cycle trip from Haldwani to Munsiari on his road bike.

Arriving from Delhi on the overnight train he assembled his cycle and set off intending to reach Chaukori (about 190 kilometers) by the evening and hoping to reach Munsiari the afternoon of the second day. His route would take him via Bhimtal, Almora, Dhaul Chhina, across the Saryu at Sera Ghat breaking the first days journey at Chaulori. His second day would end with the long climb from Thal to Munsiari.

At Haldwani he was seen off by Hem Tewari, Aastha, Kavita and K. Ram from Munsiari. The Community Tourism programme of Sarmoli Village would be in touch with him and the Sarpanch of Sarmoli Van Panchayat, Ms Malika Virdi along with E. Theophilus and other members of the Community Nature Tourism programme would be there to receive him in Munsiari.
